Child Health Corporation of America (CHCA) located in Shawnee Mission, KS, is looking for a CIO to provide IT leadership to a department of 30, and work closely with the senior management team to create an IT vision consistent with the business Strategic Plan. The organization provides group purchasing, data analytics and a broad array of performance improvement and educational services to its members who include the leading providers of healthcare services and research to pediatric patients in the U.S.

The key attributes for the successful candidate include:
  • The technical and interpersonal skills to mentor staff and drive innovation; specifically, to understand and foster the alignment and synergy needed to deliver a total IT solution that requires integration of architecture, technology, applications, infrastructure and process to solve business opportunities.
  • A project management focus with a track record of being able to deliver high quality results on-time, within budget on a consistent basis.
  • A combination of significant IT and healthcare experience that enables the translation of high level business needs into actionable requirements, to help business people discover the difference between what they are asking of technology and what they really need.
  • Ability to crisply communicate IT plans and strategies – linking those with the business plan goals – and experience in building an effective team that works together, within established policies, toward achieving clearly articulated goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree strongly preferred, Bachelor's degree required
  • 10 -15 years of Information Technology experience, with specific experience in application development and support
  • A minimum 8 years of progressive management and supervisory responsibilities with demonstrated success in a leadership role; significant Healthcare IT management experience
  • Experience developing systems that provide advanced analytics based on data assimilated from disparate systems required – experience building a robust data warehousing environment preferred
  • Proven ability to build, lead and motivate a progressive IT group with experience in developing and implementing high quality, effective and innovative technology solutions
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong business orientation with a broad knowledge of IT systems, concepts, and methodologies
  • Must be an innovative thinker and leader with the wisdom to blend strategic thinking with practical reality
